E cel mai tare meci pe care îl văd în ultimii ani...
Avem parte de arbitri idioţi (ţara lor e 0 în handbal, deci de unde să te aştepţi la competenţă?!)
Super insipirata Paula Rădulescu (Ungureanu) s-a accidentat grav. Ea e portarul cu care am revenit în joc de la deficitul de 4 goluri. Acuma e minutul 49, avem 2 goluri, dar şi inferioritate. Clujeanca Bârsan joacă bine, iar Narcisa Lecuşan e GENIALĂ.
Îmi pare rău dacă aţi ratat acest meci.

Handball NOW

În 5 minute, dacă daţi pe TVR2, puteţi vedea repriza a 2a a celui mai dramatic meci al naţionalei de handbal feminin de la finala mică pierdută cu Germania la mondiale. Pentru ce ne luptăm? Practic, pentru a ne permite luxul de a pierde cu Norvegia, campioana olimpică, în faza a doua a grupelor şi să ajungem în semifinală.

Nu mai e nevoie să spun încă o dată cât de mult iubesc echipa naţională de handbal feminin, nu?

PS: Carmen a fost genială în primele 20 de minute. Avem nevoie de luciditate în partea a doua. Şi avem nevoie să nu ne bazăm doar pe Carmen...

Coşul Verde

Salut cu bucurie şi admiraţie deschiderea primului magazin de produse ecologice din Cluj-Napoca, Coşul Verde. Iniţiativa aparţine unui grup de 4 persoane, dintre care 2 îmi sunt prieteni buni, şi sper să fie una de mare succes.

Mă bucur că există Coşul Verde, pentru că, pe lângă faptul că acum am de unde să-mi cumpăr produse sănătoase, atent selecţionate (alimente, cosmetice), proprietarii magazinului reuşesc să facă şi educaţie publicului larg. Citind ziarul lor promoţional distribuit gratuit am aflat foarte multe lucruri. De exemplu, cum să trăiesc mai ecologic şi cum să selectez produsele ecologice.

Pe de altă parte, pot depune mărturie cu privire la calitatea produselor, pentru că am gustat deja dulciurile (jeleuri, ciocolată) şi ceaiurile. Abia aştept să-mi cumpăr paste ecologice, legume şi dulceţuri. Şi, evident, cosmetice. Dacă mi-ar plăcea brânzeturile, cu siguranţă nu le-aş rata nici pe astea, că aş avea de unde alege (23 de sortimente!). Recomand magazinul şi mămicilor, întrucât mâncarea ecologică pentru bebeluşi e o altă secţiune bine reprezentată.

Dacă vreţi să vedeţi ce are de oferit magazinul, adresa este str. Sextil Puşcariu, nr. 1-3 (la un pas de Casa Matei şi la 2 de Hotel Fullton). De asemenea, în perioada 4-12 decembrie îi găsiţi pe reprezentanţii magazinului cu un stand la Târgul Cadourilor de la Expo Transilvania.

Din rutina mea mediatică fac parte Mircea Badea şi Jay Leno. Şi zappingul între buletinele de ştiri. Mă străduiesc să-mi refac o rutină într-ale cititului. Am aflat de la Radu că Mircea Badea are blog. Wonderful! Îl pun pe blogroll. Enjoy!

Despot şi o fătucă

Morale:
1. Rujul ajută, dar îţi trebuie musai un neuron.
2. Despot e un om raţional, nu te înjură până nu s-a asigurat că eşti incredibil de imbecil.
3. Prostia pură filmată va ajunge pe YouTube. Nu există loialitate colegială care să se opună.
4. Nu mai bea, fato!

Why America is the most fabulous country in the world

Many times, foreign friends of mine have criticized me about only writing in Romanian. Well, it seems like I finally have a subject to write about in English. The name is Obama whose being elected is probably the most significant moment in the US history I have witnessed during my life so far. Yes, they could, and I'd call it a landslide. I did believe it, but the reality is better than the projections.

Barack Obama is first and foremost a symbol. He is also a promise and I hope he will deliver. But I'd like to focus on the symbol. Barack Obama is the impersonation of change and the symbol of the greatness of the United States of America. Nowhere else in the world could a person with his ethnic background be elected president. Can you imagine the president of France being a black person with a French white mother and a black father/family still living in Africa? Can you imagine that for Germany? Or for any other country in the world? Can you predict how much time is needed for that to happen? Well, these kinds of things are only possible in America. Obama is the epiphany of the American dream.

The demographic data of his electorate shows that he is the president of a united America, just as he was depicting it in 2004. Race was not an issue in this race, in the sense that it didn't hurt him, on the contrary. Obama was voted by 95% of African-Americans, and by 43% of the white, the latter being a higher score than most democrat candidates achieve in presidential elections. Obama is the delegate of the young and new America, being voted by two thirds of people under the age of 30. Actually, Obama only lost by 6% to McCain in the over 65 segment of the population, taking or tying all the other categories. He is a new president for a new world. To me, he brings as much hope as Mandela and Gandhi, not only to America, but to the world. The amount of optimism is tremendous, and America's image in the world has changed instantly, I guess. The world salutes this victory and expects changes in the geopolitics through Obama's mere presence.

So what does this say about the racial issue in America? The tune of discrimination will surely subside given this powerful counterexample. Who will dare to say that blacks are still discriminated against if the president himself is black? Well, unfortunately I still expect to see paradoxes. And if a sparrow doesn't make a summer, I'm not sure that Obama can bring an end to racial tensions. But surely he has the best chances to do it. And what a role model he is for the people of the world!

And what about the victory speech? Simply marvelous! A speech to be studied alongside The Gettysburg Address that it quotes. Obama was as graceful in victory as McCain was in defeat (got to give at least that to the Republican candidate). The example of the 106-year-old woman summarized perfectly the long way the already evolved democracy in America has been through. It doesn't get better than that in the rhetoric and public speaking.

What's next? A time of great expectations and great challenges. Obama starts with the energy of a leader elected through a democratic revolution. And in this moment, the world in Obama trusts (well, it's more logical than to put your trust in God, anyway). Hopefully this black velvet revolution combined with over 200 years of experience in democracy will bring the change we want to see in the world…

Change's up

Mai sunt două zile până la un moment istoric.

Prima dată am auzit de Obama acum 2 ani, de la prietena mea Simona, care locuia în Chicago, si care mi-a scris foarte încântată că a fost la lansarea de carte a lui Barack Obama şi că a primit un autograf. Am întrebat ca orice român "cine dracu e Barack Obama"? Ce fel de actor de la Hollywood e şi ăsta, dacă n-am auzit de el... Şi m-a pus fata la curent, iar în scurt timp toată lumea a aflat de el. Un om care chiar personifică termenul de schimbare, atât de demonetizat de folosirea lui, în orice alegeri, de opoziţie. Un om care îl transformă pe Martin Luther King în profet. Căci el, în anii 60 spunea că în 40 de ani s-ar putea ca SUA să aibă un preşedinte negru. So, America, go VOTE!
